Greg Copeland

vocals

Greg Copeland was born as Gregory Andre Copeland in Portsmouth, Virginia (USA). While growing up in the Deep Southern part of the USA, Greg was and still is heavily influenced by artists such as Robert Johnson, Howlin´ Wolf, Muddy Waters, James Brown, Wilson Pickett and many others. He has developed his own style which can be described as „Blues with a touch of Soul.“

Greg is a Blues Traveller who has spread his brand of Blues throughout the world. Germany. Latvia, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, New Zealand, Romania and Israel are just a few of the countries that he has performed in. „Whenever I sing the Blues, I just add a touch of Soul to it and I just close my eyes and let the music take me wherever it takes me.“ It is no coincidence that he became a Blues Man. His raw and intense style, the way that he grunts and groans when singing will make you smile, but it will also cut you to the bone.

„You got to feel the Blues in order to appreciate and understand them! I want you to feel the pain of a broken hearted man or woman. I want you to feel the sadness of thinking that no one loves you but your mother. And she could be lying too!“

Greg is an accomplished songwriter who has collaborated and performed with artists such as internationally known keyboarder „Piano“ Pete Budden, Blues Legend „Guitar Crusher,“ world renown long time friend Roots, Folk and Blues Singer/Songwriter Big Daddy Wilson, British guitarist Chris Wragg and many others. He served as the Frontman for the band Greg Copeland and the Soulgang for 12 years and is now currently serving as the Frontman for Greg Copeland and The Brothers of Soul.

Pete Budden

keys

The pianist, singer and songwriter Piano Pete Budden from Lingen / Germany learned to play the piano at the age of eight. It became clear very early on that his love was not only for the classic, but also for free improvisation, which had a great influence on his style today.

Over the past 35 years, Piano Pete has made well over 2500 gigs and shows in a wide variety of band formations such as Lingener Blues Quartett, Blues Factory, Jezzel (Jazz from Texel / Netherlands), Troubled Wine, Dirty Fingers, Swingpower, Piano Pete & Eddy, Freak Flag ... and his solo program.

The down-to-earth pinist and singer started his first international experience to back up big names such as Louisiana Red, Carey Bell, Michael de Jong, Samuel Eddy Band and Fay Victor.

He also played support shows for artists like Blues Company, Angela Brown, Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Status Quo, Eric Burden or Percy Strothe, whom he was the solo support on the well known Bluesfestival in Texel / Netherlands. To play on a Bluesfestival in NL together with Dave Goodmann, Tino Gonzales and Tommy Harris was a very special night which he will always remember. Through many years of experience and concerts in many different countries in Europe Piano Pete started as a sideman of Greg Copeland and played 12 years with Greg Copeland and the Soulgang.

Various studio jobs an commercial music are also integral part of his artistic work. Since autumn 2021 Piano Pete started working with the highly decorated drummer and producer Tony Liotta and with his old friend Greg Copelandto create great music for music lovers.

To date he has played over 2,500 gigs in a wide variety of bands and music styles from jazz to covers, pop, rock, hard rock, blues, blues rock and soul and has also taken part in numerous CD productions. In addition to performances throughout Germany, Frank has also played various festival and club gigs in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, France, Ireland, Macedonia and Russia.

Jacek Jan Komiago

bass

Jacek Jan Komiago is a multi instrumentalist, composer and arranger,  playing acoustic and classical guitar from the age of 12 and electric bass at age of 15 as autodidact.

He developed his style and abilities through the years playing with diverse formations and genres in Poland and Germany including funk, blues, rock and jazz. He later switched to the upright bass and created his own articulation strongly influenced by Eberhard Weber’s style.

The influences in his music is based on great musicians as Eberhard Weber,  Jan Garbarek, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Loreena McKennitt, Level 42, Stanley Clarke, Victor Lemond Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, John Patitucci, Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny, Andreas Vollenweider and many more.

Guido Blendermann

guitar

Guido Blendermann is a guitarist, arranger and composer. He studied classical guitar and jazz guitar at the IfM in Osnabrück. His passion, however, is above all the electric guitar, which he still devotes most of his attention to today. He was inspired by musicians such as Larry Carlton, Steve Vai and Al Di Meola, whose styles couldn't be more different. And his playing also represents the range and versatility of the instrument, always hitting the right emotional "nerve" of the listener.

He also works as a studio musician and, in addition to "Greg Copeland & the Brothers of Soul", can be seen and heard live on a regular basis with the live band "Voices of Worship" and the "Sir Henry Band" or with the band "Just Breathe".
